Pretty Nostalgic Mood-board and Flat design .
After research into the 50s Rockabilly fad , and after finding images of the popular Textile patterns , garments and colours . I created this mood-board .
On this mood-board i have all of the inspiration i need to start designing , For example ; colour palette , fabric patterns , and annotations with information on how the 50s rockabilly fad came to be .

| I want to up-cycle a standard white shirt . So looking at my Mood-board i start flat designing . Using the patterns i see on my mood-board and adding them to my design . Also cutting off sleeves on some of the designs as i see on my mood-board that non of the female garments have any long sleeves. Some techniques you can use to up-cycling clothing can include Embellishment (Adding buttons , stitching patterns , studs and other embellishments ) Fabric paint , pleating , gathering or even adding different coloured pockets. |

| Same again here , more flat designs made by sticking to my mood-board . Note ; you should always stick to your colour palette as much as possible .For example my palette for these designs are Red , Blue , White and Black . Therefore I haven't moved away from them colours most of the time in these designs besides small exceptions . |

Fashion : Shoppers Report (Vintage)
This bolero Jacket is stocked in Debenhams and costs £40.00 .
It has set in sleeves which are mid elbow length . A mandarin style collar . and it shiny black .
Bolero Jackets were popular in the 50s-60s . And were usually worn to early evening parties and events.
They would be worn with a calf-length pleated skirt , and a peter pan collared blouse .
Halterneck Polka dot dress
Halterneck Dresses were a big trend in the 50s . Girls would finish this look
with a plain Bolero Jacket . The polka dot design on this dress was also a big trend in the 50s.This

This circle skirt is being sold on marinaretro . It is soft gingham. and
is being sold for £21.00 .Circle skirt were big when rock n roll started to surface in the
50s . Along with petticoats .
This lovely Polka dot blouse has a peter pan collar and puff sleeves . It is sold as Top Vintage
It is made from 70% Cotton 30% Silk and has a 100% silk trim . The whole design of this blouse makes it vintage 50s dress. For example the puff sleeves , the collar and the polka dot design fabric.
Looking around the shops i would say bright vibrant colours such as :
Lime Green , Reds , Electic Blue , Alot of Creams and baiges and Metalical Colours
